Forgive me my negligent non-existent posts. I am shocked that it has been since Feb. that I have posted anything. And in my own defense I have been busy writing, learning new skills and keeping up with the laundry, so I hope I am forgiven.
I have been trying to keep up with ScreenwritingU’s Pro class and it has been a brain expanding experience. I wish I could slow mo it because there is so much info and great instruction packed into each lesson, I know I will have to go back over it all many times long after the course comes to a conclusion. So if your interested in writing scripts this is an amazing course but not for the faint of heart or those with limited time to really spend on the instruction, but for anyone serious about learning the business of writing scripts and working in Hollywood, go for it, you will not be disappointed.
I will be attending Mt. Hermon’s Christian Writers Conference later this week and will be there for five days. I am looking forward to the experience and having the opportunity to learn from great instructors and have fellowship with other writers. I wish I was prepared to pitch Mattie’s Legacy but I am stuck in the synopsis part of the book proposal package. I am hoping to attend a workshop that will help to get me unstuck.
Summer is around the corner and it is baseball season…. Yay! My son is working at the Bakersfield Blaze, so I will have an excellent excuse to sit in the bleachers and wear a cool baseball cap while cheering on the local team!
He also graduates from high school this year and I am so very proud to be his mother. Of course I am very proud to have not just one but five awesome loving human beings that are my children and who give me a reason to get up and start each new day with hope and love.
If you are looking for an awesome memoir I strongly recommend “A House in the Sky”. Just take my word for it you will not be disappointed but you will find it hard to put down, and at times you will want to close it because it is not an easy to read story either.
Currently Reading: C.S. Lewis classic “Surprised by Joy”. This is autobiographical and is at times witty and dry, but interesting look at the writers life growing up and how his experiences formed his choices and beliefs.
I won Connie Mann’s Angel Falls almost a year ago and have finally started reading it and although I am only a few chapters in, I am intrigued and will let you know more when I finish reading.
Feel free to say hello and let me know what your reading. I would love to know. I wish everyone the best of everything always~
